OTIIMA x OODA | Bread & Heart Festival

SOME KIND, ANY KIND

A first public preview presented inside Some Kind_Any Kind. An immersive pavilion exploring architecture, perception, and narrative.

THE FIRST PREVIEW

At the Bread & Heart Festival, OTIIMA joins OODA for the first public preview of Some Kind of Romance, Any Kind of Existence presented inside the pavilion Some Kind Any Kind.

Conceived as an immersive architectural installation, the pavilion is the setting for the book’s first unveiling. It is a space where architecture, narrative, materiality, and perception converge.

THE PAVILION

Architecture as Sensory Experience

Some Kind_Any Kind brings the book’s concepts into physical form.

The pavilion reinterprets architecture’s essential elements, such as pillars, beams, floors, and frames, transforming them from structural components into central features. Using materiality, light, scale, and perception, the installation encourages visitors to pause amid the intensity of the contemporary city.

Constructed from timber, the pavilion engages with Tirana and Skanderbeg Square through its texture, tone, and scent. A diagonal beam represents structural ambition and the potential for expansive, uninterrupted space.

OTIIMA’s minimalist frames define two corners of the structure, subtly exploring the boundary between interior and exterior, as well as public and private space.

THE BOOK

Some Kind of Romance / Any Kind of Existence

Designed as a “dream state” inner dialogue between Some Kind of Romance and Any Kind of Existence, this publication takes the form of a novel instead of a traditional architecture monograph.

Using a dual narrative, the book traces fifteen years of OODA’s work, with past and future projects mirroring each other and illustrating the studio’s growth from Porto to a global presence. It explores architecture as atmosphere, memory, fiction, and lived experience.

Official launch: October 2026

ABOUT THE FESTIVAL

Hosted in the Book Building at Skanderbeg Square, Bread & Heart Festival returns for its second edition under the theme Landscapes of Abundance. It explores the relationship between architecture, ecology, urban life, and collective experience.

Bringing together architects, designers, artists, and cultural practitioners from around the world, the festival creates a platform for dialogue between built environments and the systems that surround them.
