About the project

The transformation of the Cardinal Lemoine site at the Collège de France bridges past and future. This initiative revitalizes three historic buildings, ensuring that their architectural integrity and functionality are maintained. Originally part of the École Polytechnique, the site has been renovated to improve circulation, accessibility, and energy efficiency. The interiors have been reconfigured, including leveling the floors to allow seamless movement throughout the complex. The restored façades and roofs complement the garden, balancing the built area and nature.

OTIIMA’s innovative solutions enhance the site’s aesthetic appeal and operational performance. Integrating four systems—38 PLUS, 54 FUSION, 54 CLASSIC, and OPEN—optimizes thermal and acoustic efficiency and preserves the site’s delicate metal and glass architectural elements. The renovated glass roof now permits abundant natural light to illuminate the space, highlighting the intricate arabesque motifs selected by architect Jacques Moussafir. This renovation modernizes the Collège de France and reinforces its status as an enduring venue for knowledge dissemination, research, and cultural interaction.
