About the project

Situated in St. Niklaas, Belgium, this residence designed by Element Architecten exemplifies the principles of minimalism, where architecture and light converge. The design is characterized by the interaction of materials and proportions, focusing on space and transitions. Central to the residence is the OTIIMA Classic system, which fosters an uninterrupted connection between the interior and exterior environments through ultraslim profiles that effectively eliminate visual barriers. This design approach creates an atmosphere of transparency, rendering the distinction between constructed space and nature virtually imperceptible.

The expansive sliding glass panels extend the architectural experience beyond the confines of the house, thereby enhancing luminosity and spatial fluidity. This integration of glazing significantly alters the perception of scale and depth, reinforcing the relationship with the surrounding landscape. The design attains an understated elegance when paired with a restrained color palette and precise detailing, illustrating that simplicity can be elevated to its highest expression.
