Situated within the picturesque landscapes of Costa Brava, Spain, the 1615 House represents a contemporary architectural achievement that redefines the interplay between structure and the natural environment. This modern structure transcends traditional design principles by merging indoor and outdoor environments while framing the region’s vistas. The stepped cascade design, developed in response to the site’s steep topography, converts a potential limitation into a unique opportunity, allowing the building to blend effortlessly with its surroundings. From the initial point of arrival at the rooftop, the visitor’s experience is characterized by fluidity, openness, and a deep connection with the natural setting.
A key aspect of the house is its inventive application of materials and joinery. Sculptural concrete volumes encapsulate the living spaces, featuring strategically positioned openings complemented by large natural wood sliding doors. This design fosters a dynamic interplay of light, air, and space, empowering residents to tailor their living environment. Supporting this cohesive design concept, OTIIMA’s Fusion System provides an invisible, frameless glazing solution that enhances the minimalist aesthetic while preserving unobstructed panoramic views.
