Desert Palisades, the stunning Palm Springs weekend home Woods and Dangaran completed in 2022, is probably the most dramatic of their projects. With the breathtaking view from the valley side and below, the house seems almost to have descended from another dimension, something that has rather theatrically arrived from space and chosen this uncommon landscape as its current position. It looks strangely temporary and permanent at the same time. It doesn’t belong but still feels breathtakingly grand and perfect for this hostile terrain.

OTIIMA minimalist and large windows allowed the reveal of different aspects of the San Jacinto mountains and the valley below. To achieve this seamless transition between the interior and exterior, two OTIIMA frame systems were used: the 38 Classic and the 38 Pivot.

Both systems respect and complement the architecture, emphasizing horizontal lines and natural materials. Visually enhance the physical linkages between indoors and out—celebrate and elevate the tenets of desert modernism.
