Olson Kundig
Joe Fletcher
Carbon Beach House, situated in Malibu, CA, was designed by Olson Kundig and is located along the Pacific Coast Highway. This coastal residence combines durable design elements with a strong connection to the ocean. A key feature of the house’s architecture is the OTIIMA Fusion system, which enables large glass panels that offer stunning views while uniting indoor and outdoor living spaces.
The interior features an open-concept layout centered around a peaceful courtyard and cactus garden that invites natural light. OTIIMA Fusion sliding window walls fully open the living, dining, and kitchen areas to a spacious exterior deck, integrating the beauty of the Pacific coastline into everyday life. On the southern facade, the adjustable horizontal louvers allow control over sunlight and privacy, fully enclosing the house when needed.
